TOM'S PHONE

Alyssa developed an interest in the performing arts as a young child. She was on a stage by the age of 4 performing tap, jazz and ballet recitals. She was in her first community theater play by the age of 12, and had roles in Hello Dolly, Godspell, Anything Goes and Jesus Christ Super Star. As a child she wrote 2 screenplays and a short story, and had a poem published in the national anthology of poetry. She took creative writing classes in high school and continued them throughout college where she majored in English with a concentration in creative writing and minored in Art History. While in college, she honed her production skills working on her school's Television station and co-producing a television game show called “Picture This”.

Alyssa started her career as a copy editor working in the Art Department for MasterCard, and eventually pursued a legal career in Intellectual Property Law. She got her foot in the door as a legal assistant for the general counsel of a big publishing company. Alyssa is currently working on her Juris Doctorate in Intellectual Property Law. A field where she hopes to help indie directors, screenplay writers and musicians protect their work. She remains committed to furthering the Creative Arts.

She met "Tom’s Phone" Director Pierre Abs when she was right out of college and they have been great friends ever since. Alyssa had been helping Pierre with the story for another feature length film, when one night on the town led to her finding a phone in a cab and thus the story for "Tom’s Phone" was born. Alyssa has enjoyed working on every aspect of this film, from the creative right down to the technical details including running the casting process where she first met the exceptional actors.
